Outside the European gate after dark!
Hugging is not common here.
Girls hold each others hands or loop arms when they walk
Guys have no problem leaning on one another, or even sitting super close.
But hugging is not done so much.
Well,. I'm a hugger. I always have been.
Even at camp, I tell the translators that if ever they need a hug, I am the person to come to!
I really love the reactions I get!
Today was my second Intensive Reading class, which is taught by one of my teachers from all three of my previous semesters. She doesn't know it, but we are the same age. {I think she knows that I am not the same age as the other students, I don't think she is aware just how far apart I am from them!}
Before class, it struck me that I had not given her a hug this semester yet. {I have in past times, and even from time to time have felt called to go see her for that reason alone.} So I went up {while no one else was in the room} and told her my realization. She smiled and hugged me back.
Then she made a small 'aw' noise and said
"What a warm hug!"
And smiled happily.
She is such a sweet woman. Always trying to make class fun and always upbeat. And yet I get the feeling that a lot of it is put on for the benefit of her students only and that she is covering pain, hurt, and sadness.
My small thing for today was seeing my teacher {really} smile and {hopefully} feel that she is loved!
#ItsTheSmallThings
Today I was the 'Emcee' or 'Host' for the new students orientation! It went pretty well. Was also suppose to present a PPT I had made, which discusses Culture Shock. Though I handed in my USB, things were busy at the time and it was not noticed that my USB was also a Pen...so when it came time for app the presentations to by put on the computer, mine was left behind in the office. Funny thing is, this is the second time that this PPT {Which I have worked on both times for many hours} has gone unused for such an event!! haha! I knew most of what I wanted to tell the students anyway, so I just did it off the top of my head without photos.
Tune in next time.....
Tomorrow, I will tell you where this is! {And show photos of the rest of it!}
So colourful!!
