I had a busy, pretty much nonstop day!
Class started at 8 and went till 11:40.
Then I had lunch.
After that, I went to work.
Work went a little over so at about 4:50 or so, I left with my
good friend to head to a couple grocery stores to purchase the
needed items for a long planned dinner together.
Since before winter break, the two of us have been talking
about making each other a dish from our respective countries!
Today was finally the day. We decided that Sunday.
As soon as we returned from picking up the things,
we both began cooking in our rooms.
I had picked up cans of spaghetti sauce {sorry, Naomi....Tomato pasta sauce.}
as well as a block of cheese when I was in ZhengZhou on Saturday.
Adding fresh mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions
as well as chicken breast I cut and fried myself.
It turned out pretty yummy!
She made a Laos soup! It was delicious! Lots of fresh veggies and ground meat!
She is such a sweetheart...the meat is usually made in a meat loaf kind of style with an
egg added to be sure it holds together in more of meat balls. Upon hearing that I can't eat egg though,
she opted to leave it out for fear it might end up hurting me!
She is awesome!
I have decided to make her deviled eggs for her birthday in May!
She is super excited about it, but is sad that I can't eat them with her!
{I was even sent paprika in one of my Christmas packages, so I can make her full blown REAL deviled eggs!!}
We ate with three girls from Korea and one from Indonesia.
The lovely cook herself, with one of our friends from Indonesia.
Two of the Korean Beauties!
She didn't really want photos being taken of her anymore, as we had already taken a couple group shots. This is the third Korean beauty!
And because I was not able to get my phone to send the pictures before, here is some of the group I went out with the other night for Hot Pot. The birthday girl is the one standing next to me.
We Are One
This was back in 2013 after our very first student planned, organized, and performed event called
We Are One-我们在一起
The two of us have been friends since the very first semester I was here,
I love getting to know her more now.
We are able to talk so much more now that our Chinese is much better!
Well, her Chinese is MUCH better as is her English, so we make do with my so so Chinese and good English.
Looking forward to spending every Sunday morning with her for English lessons. :)
<3 you Emmalyn!! ;)
I ate so much, I am so full...and it is now 11:30. Just got the dishes done.
Can't do a work out tonight...which is a fact my muscles are rejoicing in!
Home made dinner with friends!
