Not sure why I thought my boss sent a message last night telling me to come to work the next morning, since I already knew I was on for the morning, but it really didn't bother me. Only after two hours of being in the office alone did I think to look at it again and see that it actually said DON'T come to work in the morning. Ah well, I got some studying and homework done...ok, more homework and playing done then study, but I did get important things done. So of course, ya know, I HAD to take a photo to prove I was using my book. Can you see any of my notes in it, or does it just look like I opened it? HHmm...note to self, if you are going to try to prove you are doing more then just setting up a photo, open the book to a page you have already written in!
And up there in the top, you can see my mug of TEA!!! I made a cup of hot chocolate before class the other day, and one of my classmates {An American, English teacher who comes to our class twice a week} asked if I always drank Hot cocoa or if I also drank tea and coffee. Because my awesome cousin sent me so much goodness, I made a lovely cup of tea for today's working hours. {I have no classes on Friday this semester!} Tea is very popular in China, as I am sure you can imagine. But they drink it very differently then what I grew up with. I have really grown to love Chinese tea! Milk tea is so yummy and I really enjoy buying a black tea or green tea from one of the shops. However, today, I used an English Breakfast tea bag, and added both sugar and creamer...this is the kind of tea I was raised on....felt like home!
For my lunch, I warmed up the left overs from my night out with a friend! My little salsa warmer did a nice job with the eggplant and I used two metal bowls to do a warm water bath for the veggies to warm up in. Anyway...you don't need a run down of my eating habits. What made my day after I ate was to wash all of my dishes, sweep and mop the floor in the main room, sweep and mop the floor in the bathroom, tidy up my desk and put it all back in place, then take my laundry down to the first floor before heading back to work.
#ItsTheLittleThings
It was a good thing too that I got so much cleaned up! There is a teacher here {One of the Oral English teachers} looking into taking over my position in the office once I leave. {She is wanting to come back to continue learning the language and is hoping to strike up a similar deal to the one I have} She wanted to meet up today to ask me about the job and get an idea of what kinds of things it entails to decide if it is something she wants to pursue. {Side note: As excited as I am to move on from here, do new things, see where my life takes me, and be done here.....it is kinda sad to try to talk someone into replacing me! :( I feel a little protective like 'you think you can replace me, do you?' But when I told her this my boss first said that then I should stay and when I told her again how I just can't she said "Just remember, we can't do this job without you....so we need someone to take over the position once you are gone!"} ANYWAY, she asked if she could come see the room so she could get an idea of where she would be living. {The foreign teachers have a bit more of an apartment like place, with a sitting room, hallway that includes cupboards and such for a kitchenette, separate bathroom, and nice sized bedroom.} So it was a good thing that my room was all nice and neat!
Really though, for myself alone it was nice!
As we were walking out of the castle, we met up with one of my former classmates. So the three of us went to dinner together in the food court so that we could keep talking in Chinese together!
So all in all, another good day!
Aww!!
Tomorrow! Its SATURDAY!! YAY!
And I will tell you why posting everyday is not because I am as narcissistic as it makes me sound!
