All of my white socks are beginning to look....well, not so white! I bought these the other day to go to a friends house, when I forgot I was barefoot in my shoes! haha!
I kept reminding myself to hop on and post for the day, and then I did my work out, took a shower, and watched an episode of a TV show.....and by the time I closed my computer for the day it was late and I needed to call it a night. It was then I remembered I had not posted...and I had a really good little thing to post about too!
So lets just pretend this was posted on Thursday the 19th,.
In the past, I am pretty sure I have mentioned the fact that the woman at the front desk...which I don't like always calling her. So lets just call her Hannah for now. So Hannah has the sweetest 4 year old you could ever hope to meet! I have been trying to get this girl to be my friend. Some of the time she is ok with me, and we have played ball or talked and such. But lately she just looks at me funny. So I decided to take a cue from my grandfather....and ignore her! No, my grandfather was not a mean guy who never pays attention to his grandkids. He was visiting once and one of his granddaughters wanted very little to do with him. So he stopped trying to get her to like him and instead just continued to play with her siblings. By the end of the visit she was playing and laughing with them too.
For the past few days, instead of trying to get her to say hi or smile when I walk through the lobby at night, I have just walked on by as if she wasn't there. Though I really wasn't sure if she was even noticing. Then, last night I came in from getting dinner and she was sitting in the lobby with her mom and dad. As soon as I walked through the door, she got up on her knees in the chair and yelled out
'Ni Hao!" while smiling!
IT WORKED!
I made sure to play it cool and only say hello back, but it is progress and it made me smile so much!
Soon, I hope to be able to bring down the giant colouring book I brought with me from America and the crayons I bought here to colour with her. I am telling you guys, she is so sweet!
Anyway
